Portland, Oregon, spring destination:
The Rose City sits cradled into the hills above the Willamette River just south of the mighty Columbia River. This many-bridges town is 20 minutes from the Columbia Gorge with its spectacular waterfalls and imposing cliffs, 50 minutes from the Pacific Ocean and just one hour from Mount Hood, a huge peak among the coastal mountains. Active volcano Mount St. Helen’s is clearly visible from downtown Portland, though at a safe distance. Literally thousands of other natural wonders are within a half-day’s drive in this stunning North American Temperate Rainforest. Plan several days before or after this conference to enjoy mountains, the ocean and some of the most beautiful ancient forests and largest trees on Earth. Noted for the strongest peace movement in the US (per capita amongst cities, with one 2003 demonstration of 40,000), Portland is a town rich in natural and human wonders.
We welcome you.
